The Best in all of San Diego county. Food is always fresh, the store is clean, the employees are well trained and respectful. Blanca is the best, she really cares about her customers. I live in South Bay and will drive to this location for my popeyes fix. I was there on 3/7/25. Love it!!

Review by Captain 619 A Meal That's All Business Let me break it down for youse. Popeyes in El Cajon? This ain't no side hustle--it's the real deal. Me and my better half rolled in today, no entourage, just family business. And let me tell ya, the chicken? Fuggedaboutit. The missus ordered the sandwich. Crunch? Like a vault door slammin' shut. That crispy skin? Golden armor--texture so sharp, it'd make a wiseguy blush. Pickles? Tangy enough to cut through a deal gone sour. Flavor? Boss-level. She didn't say a word--just nodded. And when the Boss Lady nods, you know it's legit. Me? I went five-piece bone-in. No negotiations. Let's talk about that skin--crisp like a clean hit, with a snap that'd make a .22 jealous. Underneath? Meat so juicy, it's like they baptized the bird in flavor. Fresh? Fresher than a stack of unmarked bills. No dry spots, no shortcuts. This chicken's got respect cooked right into it. Oh, and the mac & cheese? Creamy. Cheesy. A side that could've been the main event. Fries? Solid foot soldiers, but the mac's the consigliere here. Prices? Fair. You ain't payin' for the view, you're payin' for the product. And the crew? Smooth operators. Fast hands, no lip. Like they know who's boss. Final verdict: This joint's got the crunch, the juice, and the loyalty. You wanna eat chicken that don't play games? This is the spot. Cross me on this? We'll have a problem. --Captain 619 "Remember: A recommendation from me is a favor. And I always collect."

I'm not a huge fan of the boneless wings. Their ghost pepper chicken sandwich was super great though. Their mac & cheese is also really good. They also have frozen drinks that I really like and they last a while. Service is okay. It depends on who you get. There is a guy there who is really nice, but then there's been a couple of girls who were not very customer friendly, they did their job, but they weren't smiling, and it seemed like they were distracted by whatever gossip they were talking about. Also, the apple caramel cheesecake is good, much better than Jack-in-the-Box cheesecake.
